Anti-Bias and Anti-Racism Respect for Diversity We honor diversity of all kinds and recognize that we are stronger when we are diverse. We strive to be culturally sensitive and to advocate for equity and inclusion in all the work that we do. Child Care Resources’ definition of diversity is broad and includes, but not limited to race, ethnic background, religion, gender, sexual orientation, and differing physical conditions. Cultural Competence is having a set of values, behaviors, attitudes, and practices that enable people to work effectively across cultures. It is the ability to honor and respect beliefs, languages, communication styles, and behaviors of all people receiving services. It is the process that is ongoing, full of energy, and is developing all the time and requires time commitment.
