Early Learning Care

Early Learning

We now know that the most significant brain development happens by age three. It is clear that child care environments are the learning platform for this early period of brain and social development for many children.
James Heckman, a Nobel Prize winning economist and co-author of Inequality in America, reveals the dramatic increase in the rate of return the earlier we invest in children’s lives.

Get Ready to Start School

Educators and child development experts agree that there are some important skills children need to make a successful transition to kindergarten. What comes to mind for many parents is the need for their children to have early “academic” skills, such as reading , writing and mathematics. Although some knowledge in these areas will help your child be better prepared for kindergarten, what is most important are your child’s social and emotional skills. Click here for entire article.
You can also get more information on getting children ready for school from the Foundation for Early Learning’s Getting School Ready booklet.
