Child Care Resources Board Opportunity

The Child Care Resources Board of Directors is actively seeking passionate, diverse, and experienced board members who are committed to changing outcomes for children.

Our Mission

Child Care Resources improves all children’s access to high-quality early learning experiences by engaging with families, caregivers, and communities. Embedded in Child Care Resources’ daily work is identifying and addressing racism so that all children thrive in their early learning environments.

Our Values

  • We Are Stronger Together
  • We Seek Continuous Learning and Improvement
  • We Honor Community Strengths

Our Programs

Child Care Resources educates, trains and connects families, caregivers and communities to improve access to high-quality early learning. We do this through:

  • Statewide child care referral center with enhanced services for homeless families
  • Quality improvement coaching for child care providers in King and Pierce counties
  • Kaleidoscope Play and Learn groups
  • Advocacy for families and child care providers

Our Impact

Fifty percent of Washington children are not prepared to succeed in kindergarten.  The preparation gap is even higher in communities of color, low-income families, and immigrant/refugee communities. Child Care Resources serves more than 20,000 families and child-care providers in Washington State every year, impacting the early learning experiences of more than 45,000 children.

Child Care Resources Needs YOU if . . .

  • You are passionate about early learning
  • You have time and energy to spend 6 – 10 hours a month doing board work: attending board meetings (Thursday lunchtime, 8 per year), participating in committee work, and being an ambassador for CCR in your community
  • You are motivated to become a great fundraiser and annual luncheon table host, and prepared to learn new skills to succeed in these roles

We’re especially interested in talking with you if . . .

  • You have been a leader on a non-profit board before and you are ready to bring your experience and insight to another organization
  • You are an experienced fundraiser and enthusiastic about sharing your skills
  • You come from a diverse background
  • You live or work in Pierce County
